Agree | Week 8
In Between “I Agree” and “I See”
2 Chronicles 16:9 (NKJV)—For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him.
The story of what God has done, is doing, and will do for us.
The story of Him trying to get us to believe it.
Every major turning point in the lives of the people in the Bible came when they agreed with God.
Agree is an active, ongoing, purposeful decision to hold a position—to stay.
James 1:2-5 (NKJV)—My brethren count in all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produce patience, but let patience have its perfect work, so that you may be complete lacking nothing.
Philippians 2:13 (NLT) For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
If you have you—He doesn’t.
Matthew 16:24-25 (NKJV)—Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.
Sacrifice: 1.) an act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more important or worthy.
2.) an act of slaughtering an animal or person or surrendering a possession as an offering to God or to a divine or supernatural figure.
His way is the best way, but His way demands a sacrifice and a burial of your old life.
John 12:23-24 (NKJV)—But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
Romans 6:4 (NCV) …just as Christ was raised from the dead by the wonderful power of the Father, we also can expect to be raised in newness of life.
