The Holy Spirit - Week 3
2 Peter 1:2 (NKJV)
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
Multiplied: increased to full capacity, to the maximum
3 John 2—Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers.
Hosea 4:6 (AMP)—My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (understanding).
Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV)—In all your getting, get understanding.
John 14:16-17 (NKJV) The Promise of Another Helper
16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
Acts 1:8 (NKJV) The Promise of Power
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
What is this power, and how does He help?
John 16:7-15 (NKJV) The Work of the Holy Spirit
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
Declare: expose, disclose, unwrap, reveal; show the full picture
The Holy Spirit reveals the fullness of the Word of God—it’s full capacity, ability, and power.
The Holy Spirit leads you to what you need in the Word, and then He opens it up to you.
God’s grace and peace are multiplied to you as you allow The Holy Spirit to unwrap the Word.
