God is... My Father

If anyone could ever think they had the perfect earthly father, well it wouldn’t be and couldn’t be the truth. As much as I’d like to think my father was perfect, that he did no wrong, that he could beat anybody else’s father up, that when he unbuttoned his shirt it would expose the S on his chest and a little bit of the cape he wore sticking out… well of course I’d be wrong, because he did have his shortcomings.

He was my hero, I wanted to be and still strive to be as much like him as I can. He had unending love for his family and was a loyal friend. But perfection was not his middle name, in fact no father that has ever lived can claim that name… but wait, there is one who is perfect and only one, and He knows us more than anyone including ourselves.

Our Heavenly Father, our creator, He is perfect. He knows us perfectly and has a perfect plan for our life. So whether you’ve had a great earthly father or a father  you felt neglected by, always know there is ONE who is perfect and ONE who always cares and ONE who always loves. You can always go to Him and He will always be there for you, to protect you, to provide for you, He will never reject you and will always listen to you.

Most of the time our problem is not surrendering to this truth, we’ve projected our view of our earthly father onto how we perceive God, and so we try to come up with our own solutions to fix our problems, or even others problems, and most the time end up frustrated. If we would just allow ourselves to realize that everything about our heavenly Father is perfect, and that He’s the only one who is, well life would be a lot more enjoyable.
